Niamh Foran fundraising for Irish Kidney Association CLG

I am running the Dublin Marathon for the Irish Kidney Association because this cause is incredibly personal to me. My best friend received a life-saving liver transplant on October 22nd, 2018, and witnessing her journey gave me a deep appreciation for the impact of organ donation and the support services available to transplant patients. The Dublin Marathon takes place just days after the anniversary of her transplant, and running on October 25th would be a powerful way to honour her resilience and celebrate the extra years that organ donation has given her. I want to use this opportunity to raise awareness, encourage others to consider becoming organ donors, and support the vital work the IKA does for patients and their families across Ireland.

About Irish Kidney Association CLG

The Irish Kidney Association works to meet the needs of people and their families living with and affected by end-stage kidney disease, on dialysis and post-transplant. From valuable donations and fundraisers, we can provide services such as counselling, financial aid, the use of a patient support centre and patient holidays. For more information visit www.ika.ie
